DIY Dehydrated Spaghetti Meal


In a word, spaghetti. In more words, homemade spaghetti dehydrated and prepared for eating on the trail. The process is truly simple. Make more than needed for a family dinner. Save the leftovers in the fridge overnight. That allows for the sauce to really permeate the noodles. Dehydrate the following day for as long as necessary, and vacuum bag. Why precook the noodles?

Spaghetti noodles uncooked is just not the same thing as spaghetti noodles cooked then dehydrated. Dehydrated needs less cooking time, and much less water. This is a great meal for hiking and backpacking. In fact, we even take the lightweight meals on vehicle camping trips.
